With the city’s biggest drawcard less than one month away, fashion-conscious residents are pulling together their race-day best – or at least the women are, according to this year’s Face of the Carnival, Charles Talbot.
But to any man stressing over his getup, Mr Talbot shared his top tips.
“Pants, sleeves and enclosed shoes are a must,” Mr Talbot said. “Wear a suit with a tie if you want to go formal, or chinos for a casual look.”
He said blue suits would be popular, as would blue jackets and tan chinos or grey jackets and black chinos.
“Belts and shoes should match and sunnies are a must,” Mr Talbot said.
“Most importantly – compliment and appreciate the efforts of your partner or friend.”
Wagga’s Bel Cappello ambassador Sarah Vasey said dresses and skirts should be below the knees, shoes should be enclosed and millinery should complement bags and shoes.
