So what’s the secret to a perfect hot cross bun?
Four Wagga students from Lutheran Primary School think they know the answer.
Having tasted the sweet treat from South Wagga Bakery, O’Brien’s HotBake, Woolworths and Bakers Delight, the students reflected on what makes a hot cross bun so tasty.
The perfect amount of currants, the texture and the glaze were the deciding factors.
Will decided his favourite hot cross bun was from O’Brien’s HotBake while Jaiden went for the softest option in South Wagga Bakery.
“For some reason it tasted like caramel, that’s why I liked it the best,” Will said.
Both Isabelle and Stella went for Bakers Delight, due to the glaze and the texture.
Hot cross buns weren’t the only thing discussed at the table, as the students reminded themselves about the importance of Easter – spending time with family.
