Saints’ specialist outfielder, Gemma McGlynn, has won the Umpires’ Best Player Award in the Wagga Softball competition.

She was presented with her award after the counting of votes was done at the Association’s Presentation Night on Wednesday.
McGlynn started her senior career with the now defunct Kooringal Club becoming a foundation member of the Saints in their short top-grade life.
McGlynn polled votes right from the start and was never headed, finishing with 12 votes, three ahead of team mate, Desi-Ann Calder.
Prominent players, the Warriors’ Montana Kearnes and experienced Turvey Park shortstop, Amanda Gooden, were equal third with seven votes.
Selectors announced the Outstanding Male Player, as Russ Culley and the Outstanding Female Player award went to State representative, Montana Kearnes. The Outstanding Male Youth Award went to Warriors’ Reid Kemna and the Outstanding Female Youth to Kadison Hofert.
Outstanding Junior Boy was Sean Watkins while Makaylee Little and Jess Wild shared the Outstanding Junior Girls trophy; Outstanding Sub-juniors were Nash Nixon and Alicia Donohue and Outstanding Players who attended Primary School in 2017 awards went to Crawford Wadley and Alex Maiden.
The Women’s B Grade MVP award and the Amie St Clair Perpetual trophy were won by Emily Deaner (Warriors), while in C Grade it was Saints’ Leanne Horne who won the MVP.
Reid Kemna, of South Wagga Warriors, won the Umpires’ best player award in the Male League. For the second consecutive year, Ashleigh Jamieson was the recipient of the Umpires’ award.
The Club Championship awards went to South Wagga Warriors in the Men, Turvey Park in the Women and Turvey Park in the Juniors. The Executive Shield was won by the South Wagga Warriors Softball Club.
The prestigious Member of the Year Award was presented, to long-serving Turvey Park player, Jane Wadley.
Four All Star teams, the nine players deemed by the Association selectors to be the best in the competition, were presented with their All Star team Medallions.
