Ryan McKenzie’s tenure as coach of Henwood Park got off to the perfect start as the Hawks stunned Connells Point Rovers 4-2 at Peakhurst Park.
McKenzie starred, scoring a double in the win, that was played in hot and windy conditions.
Connells Point Rovers were no easy beats and had played off in the last nine grand finals in the St George Football Association.
Aside from McKenzie’s double, Jake Ploenges and Matt Menser also scored goals.
It was Henwood Park’s first game in this year’s FFA Cup competition.
Henwood Park’s fourth round clash is likely to be on Wednesday night, April 4, a game the club hopes can be held in Wagga at Rawlings Park.
Meantime, Tolland lost 6-0 to Budgewoi in the third round.
Wagga City Wanderers and Lake Albert both forfeited their fixtures.
Leeton United went down 1-0 to North Ryde in the second round, while Tumut lost 2-0 to Wyoming.
