Cassandra and Terry Bela, owners of ‘Tato Tornado, have already placed an order of 100 kgs of potatoes ahead of this weekend’s Riverina Food and Wine Festival.
Events like this weekend’s festival are what enables their business to thrive.
Mrs Bela inherited the ‘Tato Tornado business from her father, and ever since it has been in high demand for events around the Riverina.
The secret to their success is the simplicity, but tastiness, of the potato goodness.
The potato has a simple preparation process, but the end result always hits the spot.
”One potato is on a stick, you spiral it until it covers the stick which is 45cm long,” Mrs Bela said.
“Then we batter them, fry them and that’s it.”
The Belas love what they do, especially as it allows them to be involved in the community.
You can satisfy your cravings for all things delicious at the Riverina Food and Wine Festival this Saturday, March 24, on the shores of the Wollundry Lagoon in Wagga’s civic centre precinct.
