Cowan completed his two laps in two minutes, 32.00 seconds, to set a new mark in the 14-years age group, while Malcolm Charles won the 16-years event in a record 2.24.97.
Charles wasn’t the only record-setter in the 16-years males, with Jaleel King clearing 1.75m in the high jump.
While the trio wrote their name into the school’s history books, there were plenty of other eye-catching performances as the students bought into the spirit of the day at Jubilee Park.
“We had a great day, with good participation rates and the kids really enjoyed themselves,” carnival coordinator Peta Wykes said.
“The kids were dressed up and had a fair bit of fun in their costumes.”
Bolger was the winning house, ahead of Townsend, with Sturt finishing third and Macleay fourth.
