Firefighters were conducting their weekly maintenance and equipment checks when they discovered someone had attempted to force entry and vandalised their power meter box.
Forest Hill’s Rural Fire Brigade said it was concerning someone had felt the need to attack an emergency services facility that “does its best to ensure the community is safe in their time of need”.
“The actions of these types of people can potentially significantly hamper our ability to do so,” they said.
“We’re unsure as to the person’s motive for doing so but we ask that you keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
“For the foreseeable future out external lights will be on overnight as an additional security measure.”
