South Wagga Apex Club's annual Fisherama draws hundreds to the Wollundry Lagoon | Photos

About 300 budding anglers flocked to the Wollundry Lagoon on Sunday morning to show off their fishing prowess at the South Wagga Apex Club’s annual Fisherama.

Event organiser Matthew Longmore said more than 120 fish were caught throughout the morning.

“It was all about families and young kids for us – we had a really good turn out by families, and it was predominately kids and families lining the banks,” he said.

“All the funds that we raised today will go back into local projects as they always do with the Apex Club.

“The last thing we did was install two stainless steel bubblers on the walkway around Lake Albert.”

The biggest fish of the day was landed by 12-year-old Lachie Peele, who went home with a brand new fishing rod after catching a carp weighing in at 3kg.
