A compelling documentary about the impact of suicide is set to be a sellout in Wagga this month.
There are about 50 tickets left to Suicide: The Ripple Effect, which features two of Wagga’s own mental health advocates, alongside others from across the world.
Founder of 3Words. I Need Help Facebook page Patrick Lawson and The Enemy Within founder Joe Williams were in 2016 invited to take part in the filming of the hard-hitting documentary.
The pair shared their own lived experiences of suicide.
Mr Williams said the screening was going to be “mega”.
“A lot of people are going through an enormous amount of mental pain,” Mr Williams said.
“The film is all about people, with similar stories, showing awareness and education to try and prevent that pain.”
Mr Lawson said his role was only small, but it was still big.
“We’re speaking about our lives and how we’ve made it our life’s journey to help others,” Mr Lawson said.
“It will be heavy hitting, that’s for sure.”
Both men will be part of a Q and A session, following the screening.
Suicide: The Ripple Effect will hit the big screen on March 19.
