Sacred Heart Primary School sport and wellbeing coordinator Sarah Pembleton said the week focused on taking care of both students and staff.
“There’s a need to look after our teachers and check-in so we are using the opportunity to teach children about looking after themselves,” she said.
With a coffee van and teachers encouraged to head home early to spend time with their own families this week, Ms Pembleton said it was important to make sure everyone was doing ok.
“There is just a real emphasis on looking after each other- it’s the little things to show appreciation,” she said.
Music, dance and drama teacher Jessica Dunn said incorporating meditation and wellness helps students of all ages to focus and relax.
“It’s a chance for them to refocus before they can continue learning,” she said.
“The kids absolutely love engaging with it.”
