Estella Ratepayers Association president Barbara Johnston and secretary Daniela Gooden have been pushing for a revised traffic management system at the Old Narrandera Road - Olympic Highway junction since 2005.
“We’ve been trying to get a response from Roads and Maritime for years and years but we’ve barely heard from them,” Ms Johnston said.
Letters to local and federal members have drawn polite responses but the duo want answers, not redirection.
“The last response we got in 2006 was that Roads and Maritime were working in conjunction with Wagga City Council and at that time, they said there was no funding for any substantial change,” Ms Gooden said.
Ms Johnston’s request was simple.
“We’ve heard from council and Daryl (Maguire) but that’s not what we’re after,” she said. “We want a response from roads as a courtesy, at the least.”
