Tumut Turf Club received 19 nominations for the Cup and 94 in total for the six-race non-TAB card on Saturday.
This year’s Cup is set to be one of the strongest in recent years if the nominations are anything to go by.
Tumbarumba Cup winner Didnt Even Kiss Me is nominated, in what would be final hit-out before contesting the Southern District heat of the Country Championships at Wagga on March 4.
Hometown hope Bondo, the in-form Heysen, last-start Braidwood Cup winner Ultima Chance and Tumbarumba Cup second placegetter Tableaux are all among the Cup nominations.
Tumut trainer Kerry Weir (Bondo and Cod Rock), George Osborne (Shy Frank and Reine Happy), John Marzol (Bill ‘N’ Eve and Highly Charged) and Russell Green (Tableaux and Victorian Crown) have all nominated two horses each for the Cup.
The fields will be out on Thursday.
