Stations in Gumly Gumly, Docker Street and Kooringal were cordoned off with access prohibited until further notice.
When approached for comment at 9am on Tuesday morning, a security guard at the Gumly Gumly station did not provide further details and directed traffic away.
However, Caltex operator Syed Azmath said the closures were the result of “system upgrades” and had been advertised.
“We advised customers of the works by putting up a sign at the station over previous days,” he said.
A spokesperson from Caltex Media was contacted and further details are forthcoming.
“It looks like it's a standard procedural closure - it's temporary,” the spokesperson said.
