Board member Barbara Beveridge said the plan was for one person inside the clubhouse, two on the bowling greens and three for the golf course.
Members who volutneer will be expected to supervise those six people as they complete work around the club.
Mrs Beveridge said the work for the dole participants wouldn’t be replacing greenkeepers or staff.
“It will help support the work of the three greenkeepers who work at the club,” she said.
Work for the Dole participants will be at the club two days a week from February 12.
They’ll work from 8.30am to 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch on Monday and Wednesday.
“We are compiling a list of things for them to do such as gardening, removing dead plants and cutting others back, whipper-snipping, picking up sticks and cleaning around trees, cleaning up and tidying around the clubhouse, cleaning windows etc and working on bunkers,” Mrs Beveridge said.
“If you have an area you think you would like to have as ‘yours’ please let us know and we will consider it. From our point of view there is so much that could be done.”
The club is hoping to have eight volunteers who will work across a roster. Mrs Beveridge said volunteers wouldn’t have to work, but supervise.
“Some members are happy to come on board and we’re looking for more,” she said.
“This scheme has worked very well for other organisations in Cootamundra and other towns and we know with help from our members we will be able to do likewise.”
As well as the staff Mrs Beveridge said the club relied on help from volunteers who helped keep the facilities in good condition.
