It was a chance to catch up, acknowledge service to the community and enjoy a cooked breakfast and sausages in bread.
There was face painting, jumping castles and a popular silo-bag slip and slide.
The crowds at Osborne were kept captivated by the Lockhart Shire Council’s Australia Day ambassador Nicholas Gleeson.
Mr Gleeson became blind at seven years of age after he was hit in the side of the head by a supermarket door. His story of overcoming adversity had captured the emotions of the crowd and he also generated plenty of entertainment and hearty laughs with his humorous stories.
Lockhart Shire Council deputy mayor Greg Verdon spoke of the excellent community spirit and commended the Osborne Football club on the fine job they had done in helping to organise the event.
