Now she has been awarded for her passion, representing the importance of women in agriculture.
On Wednesday, Ms Wilson will be presented with an Australia Day Award at a Parliament House luncheon in Sydney, to further her postgraduate studies.
The award recognises her achievement in the study of veterinary epidemiology, investigating the impact of the hydatid tapeworm on the beef industry.
“It feels great and I’m extremely honoured to be awarded – women play such a key role in the agricultural industry,” she said.
“I’m hoping my research will now have an impact on the beef industry and help farmers everywhere.”
