For the best part of six months, Lanskey Constructions has been overseeing the development of the long-vacant Edward Street block, across the road from Bolton Park, into a new Amart Furniture store.
Project manager Peter Kannangara said the construction project was on schedule for completion by the end of the month with fit-out works due to commence soon thereafter.
“Lanskey Constructions, where possible, have utilised the services of local sub-contractors to carry out the work, thus keeping the work in the local community,” Mr Kannangara said.
It comes as developers of the neighbouring Mill development prepare to build a 156-room, six-storey hotel next door.
The size and scale of both commercial developments, in addition to others across the city, were seen as a sign of confidence in the Wagga market.
