Police say two males armed with a wooden object broke into the home in Berembee Road, Bourkelands at 12.15am on New Year’s Day.
“The husband was assaulted and the offenders got away with a large quantity of money,” Inspector Robert Vergano said.
A description of the offenders is not available, but police are urging residents to be wary of thieves and keep their properties secure.
