Thomas Bros principal director Daniel Martelozzo has been spearheading this year’s festivities; he said the celebrations are going to be something that Wagga has never seen before.
“I think that, on the 1st of January, everyone will be going ‘wow’ – and that's what we want – the wow factor,” Mr Martelozzo said.
“The organiser of the fireworks has done many right around the country, and he claims this will be the largest fireworks display ever seen in country NSW by far.”
The celebrations are free to attend and will boast barbecues, food trucks, dragon boat races, a jumping castle, animal rides, and even two fire trucks spraying water to cool everybody down.
The festivities will kick off at 4:30pm at Apex Park, with the highly anticipated fireworks display starting at 9:30pm.
