But it is so much more than a piece of paper to Charles Sturt University alumni and their families.
It represents the time, dedication, sacrifice and hard work of Wagga students during their undergraduate or post-graduate studies.
Thousands of guests are expected to fly and drive to Wagga this week to witness the milestone graduation of loved ones across three days.
The 894 graduates – from the faculties of arts and education; business, justice and behavioural sciences; and science will attend the five ceremonies from December 11.
