It is the second time the Sloggers have made it to the Regional Bash finals, but this year they take a very different looking team onto the Sydney Cricket Ground.
There are nine new faces including Mitch Black who follow in the footsteps of some of his idols as he walks onto the hallowed turf on Sunday.
Looking to relish the experience, Black can’t wait to take on the Orana Outlaws after coming into the team this season.
“It is the first time for me so I’m looking forward to the experience of playing on somewhere where the Australian Cricket Team plays,” Black said.
After last year’s results he’s comfortable with having the underdogs tag as well.
“We’ll enjoy the challenge and it is good bunch of blokes,” Black said.
Captain Joel Robinson took on the Outlaws last season and despite some of their better players not available this time around he’s expecting another tough challenge.
“We’ve got a completely new team and they will have a few new players as well,” Robinson said.
“There’s another nine blokes who get to have a crack to play at the SCG which is not an opportunity too many people get playing country cricket.”
