Brock Phillips, third year apprentice mechanic at Wagga Motors won the Junee Can Assist ute raffle on Friday.
In a beautiful finale to a huge project, the work of TAFE students at the Junee Correctional Centre was won by an ambitious TAFE student.
Brock was picked out of a pool of 7,819 names, the project raising over $78,000 for Junee Can Assist.
Natalie Phillips from Junee Can Assist said the amount blew the original fundraising goal out the water, with about half of tickets bought by locals in Wagga and Junee.
“In last 24 hours we sold 14,000 worth of tickets,” she said.
“Fundraising is getting harder, we have more people on the books, this will take some of that pressure off and allow volunteers to focus on helping patients.”
