The Matthew Dale-trained Tower Of Song and Joe Pride’s galloper Gamblestown will not be among the acceptors for Friday’s feature race.

Tower Of Song was given the top weight of 63 kilograms, while Gamblestown followed closely with 62.5kg.

Tower Of Song is a new addition to the Dale stable but won’t be making a first-up appearance at Gundagai.

“We won’t be accepting,” Dale said.

“We didn’t know how things would be readjusted with his country rating but once we saw it had been readjusted to 89, I thought he would get around 62 kilos so we won’t be accepting.”

It will leave Dale, who has trained a record three Snake Gully Cup winners, without a runner in the feature race.

Pride also confirmed Gamblestown won’t be heading to Gundagai after the release of the weights. Stablemate, Good Time Charlie, will not run in the $35,000 Flying Handicap (1000m) either.

The latest developments mean the Nick Olive-trained Bring A Secret will carry the top weight of 58.5 kilograms.

Olive will celebrate his 45^th birthday on Friday and will be hoping the milestone can bring him some luck as he chases his first Snake Gully Cup.

He has endured a number of near misses, including a couple of beaten favourites, in recent years.

Next in the weights were fellow Canberra gallopers, Ziganui and Va Va Veni with 58 and 57.5kg.
