Residents will be taken on a journey through Wagga for the Art Trail event on Saturday and Sunday to explore the city’s bustling art culture.
Artist Kylie Von Tol said it is about encouraging people to do things that they normally wouldn’t.
“There’s a lot of people interested in art but don’t pursue it as a career – it’s a way of letting people know they can do what they love,” she said.
“There will be painters, illustrators, ceramics, a variety of other artists opening their studios around the city for people to come and get involved.”
10 artists will open their studio doors as part of the weekend event.
The event started off as a way to get more exposure for artists, but quickly developed into something else according to illustrator Suzzane Houghton.
“A lot of people don’t realise what artists do to make a body of work,” she said.
“It’s about getting people to think about where art comes from. You might walk into a book shop to buy a book, but does anyone know how it gets there?”
