Business owners Geoff and Chris Harrison were clearly shocked and thrilled with the win as they made their way to the stage.
Beaming smiles and jokes had pride of place during their acceptance speech which saw them thank their team and family for their work and support.
Owners Charlie and Julia Westerman were just as excited by the win but were unable to be at the awards night.
Harrison’s Joinery took out the award for their renovation on a 1927 Californian bungalow. The renovation saw the property brought back to life with its original features restored.
During the renovation and extension the client’s brief remained the most important element.
The brief was to preserve and restore as much of the original house as possible before making the latter extension fit better with current contemporary living styles.
“To achieve this, we opened up the back of the house to flow better into the outside entertaining area and pool,” he said.
“We added an additional bedroom and bathroom that can also be used as a separate granny flat or home office.
“The old and the new were then bought together by using a mix of traditional and contemporary finishes and furniture throughout the home.”
The home also took out Renovation Project of the Year and Bathroom Porject of the Year.
