Ms Jollife won in the petite section and said it was “empowering” to be part of a diverse modeling competition.
“There are three categories a model could compete in: petite, plus size and runway,” she said.
“I got my entry after winning in the state championships and from there, we were judged in five different categories. We had to run a workshop, do a photo shoot, an interview, then model in black, active wear and formal wear.
“The best part was it was so inclusive. You didn’t have to be a certain height, style or size – there were categories that everyone could enter in.”
Ms Jolliffe attend Miss Fashion Week Australia next year and was also invited back to walk in the state competition.
“You get a lot of people telling you no before someone says yes. It’s about pushing through until the right opportunity comes up,” she said.
