Talimalie was involved in a incident earlier this month and the Cherrypickers decided they do not want him as part of the club any more.
Cherrypickers captain-coach James Woolford confirmed Talimalie’s departure.
“We’ve stood down Ray effective immediately and he is no longer part of the club,” Woolford said.
Police are still investigating the incident over the October long weekend, but charges are expecting to be laid shortly.
Despite police still sorting out what occurred, Woolford said it was something the Cherrypickers did not to be associated with.
“I don’t want to dive into too much, but he was involved in an incident that is not what our club is about,” Woolford said.
“We have parted ways.
“It is not what I am trying to build, what our club is about and what our town in about.”
Talimalie made a big impact on the field in his first season with the club, including leading the Weissel Medal when the count was last released.
However he didn’t play in the last four games of the regular season after being suspended following an off-field incident.
He will leave a big hole in the Cherrypickers side for 2018, but Woolford is confident on their plans moving ahead.
“Something might pop up and if it doesn’t we have a young squad and a few good locals coming through,” he said.
