Earlier in the night, Don Tuckwell’s Audio’s clash with AKW Jets in the women’s competition was expected to be a very early grand final preview.

Nicole Absolum, Sarah Carter, Sophie Quirk and Bailey Porter were among the try scorers.
Porter said the game showed her side had taken a major step forward.

“We threw the ball around more and made the ball do the work instead of our legs.
“We found our feet a lot more in the second-half and looked a lot better when we were running and had plays were flowing on from eachother.”
In the other women’s game, Young Guns downed Bar Up Ballers 6-5.
Bree Frazier was the star of the show for the aptly-named youthful squad, scoring three tries throughout the contest.
