After enjoying warm days on Monday and Tuesday, the Bureau of Meteorology said the mild start to Wednesday is going to give way to possible thunderstorms, and even hail, by evening.
By 10am, the mercury was at 14 degrees in the city, on its way to a predicted top of 18.
But by 6pm, a cold front was expected to have pushed the temperature down to a much chillier 12 degrees.
A spokeswoman for the Bureau of Meteorology said the likelihood of showers in Wagga on Wednesday was rising steadily as the morning passed.
The predicted top temperature for Thursday is 13 degrees, a full five degrees lower than the 18 that was being predicted for Wednesday, and lower again than Tuesday’s top of 22.1 degrees and Monday’s 19.8 degrees.
