During the official launch of Legacy Week on Tuesday, Wagga man Adam Hilton shaved off the beard he had been growing for four years.
Mr Hilton wanted to recognise Legacy for the support it has given to his grandmother Joan Hilton, who raised two young sons after her husband Allen died.
“Legacy has helped my nan with pensions, home loans, health services and much more. Legacy has great volunteers who help provide services to the 863 widows they support,” Mr Hilton said.
Mr Hilton has raised more than $4300 via his gofundme page.
President of Wagga Legacy Mike Cummins said 170 Legatees looked after about 750 people.
