After tasting success at Forbes on Monday, Hangin’ With Willy backed up for a win at Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
Swooping on his rivals late, Hangin’ With Willy managed to finish over the top of stablemate Benno’s Boy to win by a long week.
The bargain buy has proven continues to impress Sutherland.
“I’m always maintained that he is a good horse and he’s city class when he is right,” Sutherland said.
“He is not right yet and is still very immature but he is getting there.
“I don’t think we will see the best of him for another six months.”
Sutherland was also pleased by how he handled the conditions, with the track rated a Heavy 8, after a couple of failures last year.
“I thought he could handle it and when we saw this race wasn’t a big field it was a great way to try him,” he said.
