Police are confident of catching a brazen armed thief who threatened a female newsagent who was preparing for morning trade this morning.

The thief entered the Ashmont Newsagency and Post Office on Tobruk Street shortly around 6.15am and threatened the woman before escaping with a sum on cash.
The woman, thankfully, was not physically harmed during the robbery.
Forensic police are now on the scene and are reviewing closed circuit television of the hold up in the hope of making an arrest.
Police are seeking help from the public to catch this thief and have asked anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
