Brad Carroll is the new franchisee of Grill’d, which opened on Thursday, and said he took on the store because he wanted to try “something different”.
“I worked at the Coffee Club in Wagga for 13 years,” he said.
“I knew I wanted to do something different so I took 12 months off and went down to Melbourne.
“I fell in love with Grill’d down there and thought it would be a great idea to bring it to Wagga.”
Grill’d also runs the monthly Local Matters initiative that helps raise funds for local, non-profit organisations.
This month, the team will be supporting the RSL Cricket Club, Mia’s Big Adventure and Adaptive Athlete Australia.
About 45 local people are employed at the store, Mr Carroll said, and he is excited to see what the future holds for the franchise.
“It’s been a really busy couple of weeks,” he said.
“We’re just trying to do the best we can and we want to try keep as many people happy as we can.”
