It comes after Trifogli picked up a red card for swearing during a heated verbal clash with Henwood Park’s Lachlan Davis during Leeton’s 6-2 loss to Hawks on Saturday.
The send-off turned out to be the turning point in the game, with Mick Doolin’s side struggling to contain Henwood Park’s lethal attack with ten men.
Making matters worse for United is the announcement that full back Nick Trifogli will miss at least four weeks with a suspected torn hamstring.
Trifogli required the assistance of two teammates to leave the pitch on Saturday.
It is unfortunate timing for the defender, with just five games remaining in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Leeton’s leading goal scorer Adam Raso has been cleared to play this week after experiencing back spasm against Henwood Park.
The shorthanded club will host fifth-placed Cootamundra in a crucial clash at MIA Sports Field on Sunday.
The Strikers are sitting just two points behind fourth-placed Leeton.
United coach Mick Doolin said he saw enough from his team on Saturday to suggest they had it in them to remain right in the mix heading into the business end of the season.
“I still think we competed well on the weekend,” he said.
“We created a lot of chances and had two headers which hit the upright.
“Henwood was just able to finish their chances much better than us.”
