Competition leading goal scorer Christina Grauer-Kompos and Isabella Law led Wolves’ offensive onslaught, scoring a brace each.

Bernadette Blake, Tegan Boden and Lizzie Reed also found their way onto the scoresheet.

Warriors made a concerted effort to mark experience midfielder Blake out of the game, assigning Biola Dawa with the unenviable task.

Dawa did an exceptional job, wearing the Tolland stalwart like a glove and forcing Tolland to re-think their formation.

But Tolland had still worked their way to a 3-0 lead by half-time, and after pushing Blake to right forward, Tolland rediscovered their mojo with another four goals in the second-half.

Wolves coach-keeper Annette Parkinson said the contest was more competitive than the scoreline suggested.

“Dawa was exceptional in the middle and really forced us to change things up,” she said.

“South Wagga also created a couple of very good opportunities which our defence was ultimately able to shut down.”

Tolland will look to continue its rampage of the top-flight women’s competition against last-placed Leeton at MIA Sports Field on Sunday, while South Wagga faces seventh-placed Young at Rawlings Park.
