Officers attended a home on Phillip Avenue, following reports of a rowdy brawl, disturbing the neighbourhood after 11pm.
Inspector Peter McLay said officers were investigating an alleged assault when the 48-year-old mother became abusive and the 20-year-old daughter started unleashing verbal threats.
He said the 48-year-old then attempted to stop police from entering the home to arrest her daughter.
The pair were bailed to face Wagga Local Court.
