Bomb threat in Wagga leads to interstate arrest

A bomb threat in Wagga across the weekend has resulted in an interstate arrest.

The local area command received the threatening phone call on Sunday morning after 7am.

Duty officer Rob Vergano said investigations that followed identified a 24-year-old Cairns man, who was taken into custody by Queensland police.

Inspector Vergano said officers later charged the young man with using a carriage service for a hoax threat under the Commonwealth Criminal Code.
