Captain-coach Robbie Byatt was thrilled to finally get a win on the board.
Byatt led the way, scoring two tries as the Greens finally broke through for a win after four close results already this season.
“It’s very good to get the win up,” Byatt said.
“We’ve been close and close and close so to finally put in an 80-minute performance was good.”
The two teams were locked at 18-all after an entertaining first half.
However Byatt’s try early in the second half was enough to split the teams.
Brothers had plenty of opportunities to score in the dying stages but couldn’t.
Byatt was pleased by the team’s dogged defence late and was also impressed with recruit Simione Maamaloa, while brother Matt had another strong game.
The loss adds to a sorry season for Brothers, who are now only one win clear of last placed Cootamundra.
