Still very little doing as we are awaiting orders to move. All my times pent on answering my mail and getting things straight. We are in camp at Sohiers Farm midway between Poperinghe and Reninghelst. Everything quiet except heavy firing on our left. Italian situation still serious, they have lost 2,500 guns and 200,000 prisoners. British and French troops have been rushed across, a lot of trains having been with-drawn for the purpose.
Went to a concert at Reninghelst at night and it was a splendid show, quite equal to a music hall at home. These troupes have now been brought to a high state of excellence and do a lot of good. Visited Poperinghe during the afternoon to buy a writing tablet and other things. Weather cold and wet underfoot but fine otherwise.
