Sheard suffered from calf tightness in the win over Ag College last week and the Boiled Lollies have opted for a conservative approach with the flanker.
“It’s nothing too serious but we are better off giving him a rest for the week and giving some other guys some experience in there,” coach Michael Kanck said.
It means Rambo Lagaali will switch with Monson Yavale coming in for his first starting game for the club at number eight.
Yavale was one of his team’s best last week and Kanck thought he deserved his shot.
“He’s trained well and obviously performed well so he gets his starting debut for Wagga City,” he said.
Kanck is expecting a tough road trip.
With plenty of rain forecast expects it be a hard slog for this forwards to get on top against a team looking to rebound from a loss to Albury last week.
