Disabled parking woes to be eased

People living with a disability will soon have access to more parking spaces.

Wagga City Council has announced it will create 21 new disabled parking spaces in Baylis, Fitzmaurice, Church and Fitzhardinge streets under the Mobility Parking Scheme (MPS), expected to cost $66,000.

The number of disabled parking spaces will increase from 15 to 36 – 16 in Baylis and Fitzmaurice Street and 20 in side streets.

Work on the MPS is expected to start in the coming weeks, which could affect traffic conditions.
