In light of the accident, a group of Wagga cyclists urged their children to take heed on steep terrain in Victoria over the Easter weekend.
“This is a prime example of how dangerous cycling can be, where someone who’s incredibly sensible has been injured,” Wagga Cycle Club spokesman Cameron Oke said.
“We told the kids, ‘you can’t be silly when you’re at Mt Hotham.’”
Despite warnings, a few kids had accidents – a 15 year-old broke his collarbone and a 17 year-old overextended his elbow.
