Low water allocations meant last season’s crop reached only 245,000 tonnes.
But a SunRice spokesman said plentiful winter and spring rains, 100 per cent water allocations across the Murray and Murrumbidgee valleys, reduced water prices and favourable growing conditions had helped dramatically bolster this year’s projected crop.
