THE next chapter in the rich history of Wagga’s Eunony Bridge is about to be written.

Council on Tuesday revealed it had formally issued tender requests for the design component of the new bridge.

Close to $10 million in state and federal funding has been secured to replace the bridge and allow heavier vehicles to cross the river at Eunony Bridge Road and get better access to Bomen Industrial Park.

The project is expected to be completed and ready for traffic by 2018.
