Lights4Lake, a four-year long initiative to install 104 solar-powered light poles around the body of water, was last week set in stone.
The completion of the project came on Thursday – much to the relief of Committee 4 Wagga (C4W).
Chairman Judy Galloway said the Lights4Lake intiative drew inspiration from the Tan Track, in central Melbourne.
“We want to give people inspiration to get out and exercise around the lake at night and give more people reason to stop by,” she said.
“This victory in securing these lights shows the power of the Wagga community.
The community contributed a total of $230,000.
Each of the 104 lights are sponsored by residents and businesses.
