Organisers were overwhelmed with students looking to take on the 800 metre challenge at Jubilee.
Sports co-ordinator Dionie Hodges was pleasantly surprised to see so many put their best foot forward.
“We had a lot of entries in the 800 metre race which is something we didn’t expect,” Hodges said.
The age champions and winning house are still to be finalised, but Hodges was pleased with how the carnival was received.
“It was really good and the kids were really great,” she said. “It was good to see so many people participate and everyone did well despite the heat.”
Hodges was also pleased to see the whole school community coming together, with a large influx on parents on hold to cheer on the kids.
“We had lots of parents turn up to support there kids, which was nice to see,” she said.
“A lot of people really had a go.”
