As Brett Stonestreet remained in a stable condition in a Griffith hospital, his son Matthew Stonestreet, 29, faced court over inflicting the injuries in an alleged attack in the family home on Wednesday morning.
Matthew Stonestreet appeared in Griffith Local Court via video link on Thursday and had his matter adjourned until April 26.
He has not yet entered a plea and will remain locked up until his next appearance.
Brett Stonestreet is being treated for multiple stab wounds.
- An earlier version of this story, which appeared in Friday’s DA, incorrectly stated the surgeons operating on Mr Stonestreet was from St Vincent’s Hospital. They were, in fact, Griffith Base Hospital surgeons.
