She knows there is more to entering pageants than having a pretty face and she wants to encourage other girls to enter to gain confidence and self worth.
The former Riverina girl is no stranger to the stage and she is currently preparing to be one of 25 finalists for Miss Galaxy Australia next month.
Miss Gorman, who comes from Adelong, was a contestant on reality show Beauty and the Geek and has since been entering in pageants.
She placed in the top 13 of Miss World Australia last year and it gave her the confidence to continue.
“Very much, there’s a stigma about it that it’s only about looks,” she said.
“It’s not about the beauty, it’s about the brains behind it.”
The numerous categories involved in Miss Galaxy Australia, including swimsuit, charity, media, eco beauty and fitness, has encouraged Miss Gorman to push her boundaries.
She wants to break the stigma surrounding pageants to encourage other girls to enter.
The national finals for Miss Galaxy Australia will be held on April 1.
