Kooringal Public School swimming carnival volunteers welcomed a contingent of helpers from Kooringal High, who recorded times and lightened the load at Oasis on Tuesday.

“This is the first year we’ve had them,” organiser Morgan Kennedy said.
“It made it so much easier.”
Among the many kids who won blue ribbons, 11 year’s girl’s age champion Lilly Lewis was a stand out, competitive in each event.
The 11 year’s boy’s age championship was hotly contested, with Jake Hinds challenging winner Jake Wilson in every event, and only missing out by a point.
In the house championship, Graham won the day, closely followed by Castle.
Non-swimmers enjoyed novelty events inside.

“They always have a lot of fun in there,” Kennedy said.
“The houses all showed great sportsmanship, the chants were going non-stop, and the students were all very well-mannered.”
No records were broken on the action-packed day.
