Chris Wilson was left distressed after his prized red cattle dog Bonzer was taken in a sale gone awry on Thursday.
“He is the best dog in the world,” Mr Wilson said.
“We can’t find him or the woman who has taken him.”
Mr Wilson said he directed the buyer to the sold dog and left the property to pick up some horses.
When he returned home, his beloved Bonzer was missing and the sold dog, Bud, remained in the backyard.
Mr Wilson said he had contacted police and the RSPCA, with no leads to speak of and is appealing for the public’s help.
“We’ve been everywhere with no luck,” Mr Wilson said.
“I feel sick that we can’t find Bonzer and he would be feeling sick too.”
Mr Wilson said he felt hard done by after helping the woman to find a dog as she had become nervous of her neighbours.
“We hope she hasn’t sold him,” Mr Wilson said.
“I am a tough old cowboy but I am fretting without him. He is my dog and he has the best character.”
